Te Pou Kōrero to head to an online format from 2024

The last full hard print Te Pou Kōrero will begin arriving into near three thousand households this week before transitioning to an online format of kōrero and pānui sharing from the 2024 new year.

Since the inception of Ngāti Ruanui, Te Pou Kōrero has been a key platform of communicating to uri. Ensuring that w’ānau are kept updated with the ma’i that we’re involved in and sharing kōrero about our uri to empower one another.

With the success of the review of the Deed of Trust, we can now modernise the platform and move it online.

Uri are able to engage with the content online, share the links among their networks and hopefully connect with Ngāti Ruanui, faster and more efficiently.

It will also help us to become more environmentally friendly and save costs on ink and paper.

Kaiw’aka’aere Rachel Arnott, said that we know our kaumātua like a physical copy.

“A printed version will still be distributed for uri over the age of 65. Any other uri can opt into receiving a physical copy by contacting the office.”

“Te Pou Kōrero is something that has been established since our settlement was signed. It’s monumentous being able to transition it to an online format,” she said.
