What is Te Atakura?
Te Atakura is a culturally responsive, relationships-based approach, grounded in research and guided by kaupapa Māori values, towards achieving ōritetanga (equity) within tertiary education in New Zealand. It focuses on the educational experience of ākonga Māori in a way that enables the organisation to better support the educational experience and outcomes for all ākonga.
What we do:
Our team is dedicated to providing support for tamariki and rangatahi who have disengaged from mainstream schooling.
As a short term intervention, alternative education re-engages students in a meaningful learning programme targeted to their individual needs. We supports each individual to transition back to mainstream school, further education, training or employment.
