Our Mahi
Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Ruanui is the governing body of Ngāti Ruanui.
The Rūnanga manages all assets and represents the iwi in public relationships on behalf of the iwi. The iwi manages political and public interests including treaty claims and settlements, fisheries, health services, social services, central and local government relationships, and resource and environmental management.
Our purpose is to enhance the mana, well-being, and prosperity of Ngāti Ruanui iwi, hapū, and whānau, reclaiming our self-determination, revitalising our environment; through leadership, innovation, strategy, and interconnectedness.
Ngāti Ruanui Tahua
Ngāti Ruanui Tahua Limited offers a kaupapa Māori holistic approach to all people in our community. Our operations encompass kohanga reo, early childcare (ECE), whānau ora and social services along with our GP Practices in Hāwera and Pātea.
Policy and Strategy
Revitalising our environment has us working with a large range of stakeholders and authorities including the South Taranaki District Council, Stratford District Council and Central Government.

Creating outstanding digital citizens starts with a strong connection to their wider community. This year representatives and students attended numerous ‘ui and community events, to both showcase their talents as well as engage and positively affect the world around them.
The cornerstone of these events is the annual Puanga Matariki Whānau Day.
Te Atākura
Te Atākura is designed for whānau and Kaimārire to provide a Ngāti Ruanui view on how we Manaaki whānau and mokopuna.
Ngāti Ruanui, under Te Atākura, has provided direct care for Mokopuna within Taranaki for the reporting year.
